Remember your Anchor

HELLO FRIENDS,

Sometimes there are seasons where we find our focus rests much more on the questions of life rather than having the luxury of resting in outcomes. Anyone else? It can feel like our life is drifting more than being anchored to anything secure.

We ask: How did I get here?

Which direction should I turn now?

And the big one: Simply, WHY?

With questions often comes waiting. We wait for the job opening. We wait for a relationship. We wait for the paycheck to come in. We wait for medical test results. We wait for circumstances to change.

In times of questions and uncertainty and even in seasons of waiting, we find a gracious invitation for hope and rest through Jesus as an anchor for our soul. In all honesty, sometimes an answer coming too quickly can get in the way of how God may want to shape and prepare us or deepen our trust as we become formed by Him.

While waiting, look at these scriptures that invite our attention to shift to the One who holds it all:

“I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.” Psalm 130:5

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf.” Hebrews 6:19-20

“And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:17

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28-30

Friends, may you know the grace of God today as He meets you in the midst of your questions, your waiting and your uncertainty. May the never-ending hope, rest and security of God be made known to you in personal and practical ways this week. He is with you and will sustain you!
