"Round Up A Third"
HELLO FRIENDS,
There’s something really powerful about having dear friends that we can celebrate the wins with, comfort through the losses with, and keep encouraging though the mundane with. Jesus doesn’t want us going through life alone, so he calls us to go find community where we can experience belonging and care.
The message translation of Ecclesiastes 4:12 says: “By yourself you’re unprotected. With a friend you can face the worst. Can you round up a third? A three-stranded rope isn’t easily snapped.” “Can you round up a third?”
I love this call to action. Sometimes, perhaps more often than not, we need to go seek community out for ourselves. Don’t carry a heavy burden on your own. Let people carry it with you. Experience joy through vulnerability and authenticity. We get to choose to do life with others. Be bold and seek out the people God wants you to grow alongside.
If you’re not sure where to start, we’ve got so many great ways for you to get connected here at WSFC! We have men’s, women’s and co-ed groups that meet throughout the week for all different ages. You can also get connected through serving in one of our many ministries. Coming up this summer, we have Summer Tables where you will experience genuine connection and friendship over a shared meal.
God wants us in community, as much as we want to be in community. I know sometimes, it’s more comfortable to wait for a clear direction or answer from God before we take a step. Let’s try something different.Let’s be brave, rely on him, and listen to the call to “round up a third”!
